All around you are the spectacular landscapes of the Sierra Madre Occidental, complete with its stunning volcanoes, cliffs and rivers. Founded in 1563 by Spanish conquistador Francisco de Ibarra, the historic capital of Durango features nearly 1000 historical buildings in the city center alone. Here we will take a guided tour of Plaza Las Armas and the historical center and discover a stunning array of colonial and post-colonial buildings, churches, local shops, the famous Pancho Villa Museum and the city scene of modern Durango.
