Venture well outside of Mazatlan to the neighboring state of Nayarit, where we will tour the colonial capital of San Blas and the nature preserve of La Tovara.  Known as "The Mexican Amazon", the river carries us through the La Tovara wildlife sanctuary, where we can see white egrets, rufous-necked wood rails, turtles, giant blue iguanas, crocodiles, and all kinds of other wildlife and migratory birds.

Our tour will also take us to the colonial port of San Blas, and the ruins of the old fort, where you will get an incredible view of mountains, ocean, beaches and a jungle of palm trees.  We will end our full day tour of one of the great jungles of Mexico with a delicious Mexican lunch at the La Tovara restaurant.
